Code Yogis is a multi-level program aimed at instilling interest and understanding for technology at a young age. Focusing on several aspects of modern tech including, coding, robotics, circuity and AI, the program provides an opportunity for learning that isn't present in public schooling. With hands-on learning, fun projects and team activities, Code Yogis can help school-age kids find their calling and pave the way for a career in the growing tech industry.
The instructor, Alaina, is a current student of Central Bucks School District. She began exploring the world of coding at age six. Since that time, she's acquired an understanding of numerous aspects of the tech world . Among her achievements and qualifications, Alaina has worked with many projects of her own, including developing an Amazon Alexa app for her school district for which she was recognized. Senator Brian Fitzpatrick worked to get a flag flown in her honor on Capitol Hill. She’s also spoken at international universities about her research on topics such as AI and ChatGPT. Alaina’s an AWS certified Cloud Practitioner and regularly writes blogs about various tech topics. She has experience teaching eight week courses at Bucks County Libraries and was previously the president of a coding enrichment club at her school.
Code Yogis Level 1:
Level 1 focuses on laying a strong foundation for technology and future coding. With a basic understanding of hardware, circuitry, and electricity, kids can go on to achieve so much more. Scratching the surface of coding with MIT Scratch allows for a strong foundation in computer programming in an easy way for kids to understand. Both the basics of coding and electronic hardware are covered in this 6-week level.
Code Yogis Level 2:
This level concentrates on expanding upon beginner knowledge of programming concepts. Expanding further with Pseudocode and diagramatic programming students can learn the concepts of data, conditions, looping, procedures, and much more to ensure their success in any coding language they may pick up in the future. This 6-week program is the foundation for robotics and machine learning, and prepares kids for any future endeavors in technology.
